We are very close to loading her new custom street tune and then bringing her to life however before we do so there are a few more detail and personal touch items to tend to.
Here we are removing her OEM side stripes leaving only the FORD GT script as one of the last minute personal touch items requested as associated with this project. This is a tedious process however even more so "before" one attempts to do this one must first confirm that as OEM the side stripe was not used as a repaint line during the gals production/post production; this is an act that we have seen on a several of the gals which makes the removing of the side stripes impossible without secondary paint work. In the case of this gal we confirmed this before proceeding and the result of our effort is stunning.
Here we have installed a new pair of custom OEM appearing Macintosh amp labels thus completing the custom integration of the dual OEM amps and dual OEM subwoofers located within the pair of custom subwoofer enclosures.
Here we are loading her custom street tune which was carefully developed specifically for the Gen II Whipple with the long tune header system as integrated into this gal.
Here is one of the most exciting part of the project; this being when we have brought her to life and are able to confirm that all of her systems operate as designed and that she is happy. This test run was flawless with all systems on line and operating as designed and her making it very clear that she is happy and ready to be exercised.
Now that she has been brought to life and up to normal operating temperature we will now allow her to cool completely and then verify that all hardware as associated with this project is properly secured and then we can install her belly pans/rear diffuser. In the meantime we will begin the methodical and to some degree arduous process of detailing her to the "9s" as we make her ready to have the custom clear bra installed.
Here we have washed her wheels inside and out as part of the detailing process.
Here we are installing a new set of OEM underbody panel diapers/insulators as those on her when she arrived were deteriorating; the determination is normal with our experience being that they need to be replaced every 5 years.
Here we have set the ride height for this gal; no longer is she higher in the front appearing as if carrying a dirty diaper but rather now she has been lowered at all four corner and a stance that is aggressive.
Once the ride height was completed we then verified that the alignment was as desired. In the case of this gal only a minor toe-in adjustment was needed. We align the gals up close and personal using tools as created many years ago. These tools require one to understand aligning a gal when compared to the new computerized tools that allow most anyone with computer experience to align a gal.
Here are the tools used to verify and adjust her alignment as was deemed necessary.
Now that we have installed her underbody panels/rear diffuser we have removed her rear wheels one last time to confirm that all panel alignments are as desired and to install the rear portion of her rear inner fender liners.
When we are applying the proper torque to her wheels as she is being made ready to be removed from the lift and into the clean room portion of the facility for the final phase of this project.
Here she is within the clean room portion of the facility where she will remain as we tend to the comprehensive detailing and then custom clear bra installation.
