BackShadowman's Custom D/A Chevy Truck: Phase Two

Phase Two

The following pictures will share some of the steps taken to date and the associated results as we methodically integrate the new independent quick change rear end. We have completed the dry fitting of the custom independent quick change rear end assembly, located and secured the pinion support bars and the lower radius bars. We created and fabricated a custom front radius bar bracket that has the center pivot point of the bars located in line with the custom independent quick change rear end's lower control arm pivot point/through bolt and have been placed at the same height as the lower control arm pivot point/bolt so as to insure that the radius bars will work in concert with the lower control arms with no binding such as pushing or pulling as the control arms move up and down effectively creating two large control arms.

Then we rotated the differential/center section so that it is nosed up at 3 degrees to match the 3 degrees of down angle on the engine/transmission so as to insure that the driveshaft has no vibration. With the custom independent quick change rear end assembly in place we will now route the custom e-brake cables as created by "Control Cables" and then we will fabricate the custom exhaust system and the new custom driveshaft. Once the custom exhaust and custom driveshaft have been fabricated we will complete the dry fitting and then we will disassemble her arse one last time so we can begin the tedious process of final detail and paint work.
