BackOut of the Pit: Phase Three

Phase Three

Finally after far too many months to remember we were able to procure a set of Factory OEM ACR shocks for this gal; this was a defined "must have" from the onset as such we relentlessly continued to look for them. There were moments in time when we were told that they would be here, one time in fact when the fronts arrived however until this moment in time we never saw a set of rears. There is no doubt that the trouble associated with the acquiring of these shocks was as the direct result of the big three debacle as such chaos and uncertainty because the daily norm however never giving up and the customer having extreme patience insured that success would finally be experienced as a complete set of Factory OEM ACR shocks were located and as evidenced below they have finally been integrated onto this gal.

Here are the Factory OEM KW shocks as specifically designed for the ACR Viper; a truly wonderful looking set of shocks with many unique features as well as a phenomenal number of adjustments all of which are relatively easy to access.

.. Here the long awaited opportunity to integrate the Factory OEM KW shocks as developed for the ACR are being carefully and methodically introduced onto this gal.

Once the new suspension was fully integrated we then installed her OEM under body panels and then for the first time in many months we placed her respectfully back on her shoes which as the result of this gal being a limited VOI Edition are the lightweight Factory ACR wheels.
Here she is in all her glory no longer on the rolling bridge jacks.

Now that she is back on her own shoes we have a couple small personal touch items to complete as well as tending to a final suspension alignment before she is ready to introduced to her family and then be methodically driven through her new car break in process as she only has "17 miles" on her. Once the methodical break in process has been completed during which her owner and her will get to know each other there is no doubt that she will be exercised and enjoyed. As created she was given the heart of a lion and then add to this the integration of the shortened shifter, the factory proven and purpose designed suspension, as well as the alternate gearing there is no doubt that she is a force to be reckoned with.
Now we are going to complete the driver seat installation; previously we integrated the 2" lowering system however had not relocated the OEM gateway module. This OEM module is normally located under the driver seat as evidenced in earlier pictures however because we lowered the seat 2" effectively placing the seat on the floor board it had to be moved. We elected to mount it on the bulkhead behind the driver seat on a custom aluminum panel and then it will be covered with the existing OEM carpet. This location will allow for ease of future service and yet remain out of the way; both visually and physically.
Here the process of relocating the OEM gateway module is being tended to; initially we created a simple custom aluminum plate to which the gateway module will be secured and then we positioned it on the bulkhead behind the driver seat after which we installed a pair of Nutserts into the bulkhead that will allow the custom aluminum plate to be secured independent of the gateway module. Then we installed 4 Nutserts into the custom aluminum plate thereby allowing the plate to be secured too the bulkhead behind the driver seat and then the gateway module to be secured to the plate creating an OEM integrated look and feel to this relocation.

Here the driver seat now lowered a full 2" have been installed for the last time. There is no doubt that the difference is extreme and there is also no doubt that accessing the rear seat mounting hardware is extremely difficult.

Here we have integrated a V-1 harness at the rearview mirror; we tied the V-1 harness into the OEM harness and then sheathed the V-1 harness so that once in place it appears as if OEM and insures a trouble free service life as the powering of the harness is now protected by means of the OEM power distribution center.

Here she is after moving into the clean room portion of the facility under her own power as we make ready to complete the final phases of this project; we will be tinting her side and rear window and then completing the suspension alignment after which she will be "ready to roll".

The final days are upon us as we make this gal ready to travel home; to a home and an owner that she has never met and yet we are certain that they will get along just fine.
Here she is backed into the clean room after having her alignment completed. In her case she was set up as if an ACR for smooth track activities however at her arse we have a slightly softer set of springs on the OEM KW ACR suspension so as to offset the fact that she does not have the large ACR rear wing.

Here the process of applying window tint is underway; extremely dark aka limo tint is being used on her rear hatch however a medium tint was selected for the side windows. The lighter side tint will allow for good visibility whether during the day or at night and yet still give her a wicked and to some degree very aggressive look.

As is often the case here we are under the cloak of darkness loading this gal as she is being made ready for her multi thousand mile journey home.

She is now truly "Out of the Pitt" also referred to as Area 51 after many months of massaging; now with under 100 miles on her it is time that she is enjoyed as there is no doubt that she is anxious to be exercised.
