BackThe Other Woman: Phase Three

Phase Three

Now that all of the custom wiring harnesses as associated with the custom traction control system have been integrated we will begin the methodical processes of associating them with her engine management system in her arse and then we will integrate the system into her OEM ABS brake system. This is a painstakingly slow and methodical process as we have to unsheathe the OEM wiring harnesses so that once completed the processes appear as if OEM.

Here we have unsheathed the OEM engine wiring harness from the PCM and Injector Controller module to the passenger side of her engine.

Here we have completed the integrating of the custom traction control system and are now returning the wiring harnesses back to their OEM state.

Here we are completing the electrical tie-ins as associated with the custom traction control system. We are doing this in the same area as the OEM PCM (Power Control Module) and Injector Controller modules are located so that from a hardware layout standpoint it will remain as if OEM and also because this area offers reasonable access for future servicing of the system.

Here we are methodically integrating the custom traction control system at the OEM ABS unit. We take great care to retain the original layout and then all of the new wiring used for the short piggybacked wiring harness is colored as if OEM and then twisted pairs are created so as to reduce/eliminate any electrical noise that could be created up to the Deutsch multi-seal connector and then between the multi-seal Deutsch connector and one of the custom traction control modules we use CAT 7 cable which is by today's industry standard the best of the best for carrying a clean noise free signal thus insuring that the system will operate crisp and consistent. Once we completed the custom wiring integration we sheathed the wiring harnesses as if OEM and placed them in position securing the wiring harness with the OEM retainers.

Here we have all of the custom traction control wiring harnesses placed within her boot area and are now preparing to tie them into the primary custom traction control harnesses that were integrated earlier using the multi-seal Deutsch connectors after which we will be able to install her boot liner as this area will have been fully integrated.

Now that we have fully integrated the custom traction control system within her engine bay we are now able to introduce the black Whipple supercharger to her.
Here we are preparing and installing the black Whipple supercharger thus transforming "The Other Women" into the mystical "Black Magic Women". During this process we methodically prepare all of the surfaces and then use all new OEM gaskets and seals so as to insure that everything seals properly.

This gal is moving very quickly towards the day when she can be reunited with her family and once again exercised. We are going to integrate the standalone MAP sensor that will feed data to the new custom vacuum/boost gauge, we will complete the final custom wiring harness work as associated with the custom traction control system, install a fresh set of NGK TR7 IX spark plugs, tend to a few more detail items, and then bring her back to life so we can complete a comprehensive system's check. Here we are replacing her spark plugs with a slightly cooler NGK TR7 IX, during this process we will also be closing the gap down to .025 so as to insure a strong steady spark remains even during the more extreme moments (high boost) in time. One of things that we share with all is the importance of careful removal and installation of the spark plugs and then the proper torque "must" be applied. The proper torque does several things including making certain that the speak plug has the ability to properly transfer/migrate heat.

Here we are integrating the standalone MAP sensor for the custom vacuum/boost gauge. The bracket used is a custom aluminum CNC machined piece that we had powder coated semi gloss black to match with her new Whipple supercharger.

Here is one of the many custom under the dash wiring harnesses as associated with the custom traction control system. The particular custom wiring harness has a specially designed PCB aka printed circuit board integrated that allows the steering column LEDs and controls to properly communicate with the remainder of the custom traction control system.

Here are the many custom under the dash wiring harnesses and data cable as associated with the custom traction control system each terminated with a Deutsch multi-seal connector as they have been made to be plugged into the custom traction control system.

Here are the many custom wiring harnesses as associated with the custom traction system all plugged in within the gal's boot area so that the comprehensive system's testing can commence. Once the testing is completed then these custom wiring harnesses will all be neatly and discretely tucked in and secured to appear as if OEM.

Here we are confirming that the iPod interface is operating as designed before we button up the SJB (smart junction box) located at the passenger side foot well.

[ View Pictures ]
Now that we have completed the comprehensive testing of the new systems, loaded the new based tune for the Whipple supercharger as well as the software for the custom traction control system we can now seal up the SJB aka Smart Junction Box area which is located within the passenger foot well area.

Here we have complete the testing of the instrumentation.

Here we tended to a few more of her body lines making her looking even crisper than the day that she arrived at Area 51.

[ View Pictures ]
Here she has been move to another location with the facility; this time under her own power and "she sounds AWESOME" making it very clear to all that she is anxious to be exercised.

[ View Pictures ]
We now need to complete the preparation and then methodically process of protecting her high risk areas with plastic and then tend to a few of the final detail items as associated with the many phases of this project.
Here the methodical and careful process of wrapping her high risk areas is underway.

Here we are tending to one of the many personal touch items; here we are replacing the OEM plastic harness bezel with the very nice CNC machined billet aluminum pieces that were then anodized to match the cool "Hot Buttons". This is truly a wonderful finishing touch.

[ View Pictures ]
Here we have installed the custom e-brake boot that not only compliments her interior when compared to the OEM rubber boot but it also appears as part of the custom shifter bezel and in this gal's case her custom titanium shifter ball and titanium fatty sleeve; these titanium pieces were machined so as to allow the fatty sleeve to slide within the shifter ball thus eliminating the need for an exposed lock nut.

[ View Pictures ]
Now that the new systems have all been brought on line and tested we were able to position the custom harnesses within her boot area before installing the boot liner for the last time.

Here we get the sense that she is saying her goodbyes or see you all later as there is little doubt that she knows that her day to depart is near.

This gal aka "The Other Women" as evidenced has been massaged from stem to stern with many very wonderful personal touch and performance items/system integrated some of which have certainly given her a bit of the dark-side aka "The Black Magic Women" and yet we feel certain that she remains a lady through and through and is in fact happy and anxious to be going home where she can be exercised and cherished as such will respond once home in a manner consistent with that she is treated. After what has been a wonderful experience the day for "The Other Women" to travel home is upon us. It was an interesting day because there were several gals heading home today so the process required patience by all.
Here "The Other Women" relaxes with others as she albeit anxious remains patiently as her turn to be loaded for her journey home is soon to arrive.
